The Membership Committee would like
to encourage
our members
to give a
little
back to Roton Point through volunteering time
to serve on a committee or the Board of Directors. Although Roton
Point has an excellent staff lead by our General Manager
member volunteers
are what
give the Club its particular personality. We want to encourage,
especially, some of the members who have recently purchased units to
volunteer. New members' fresh ideas
and perspectives
are an
integral part of Roton Point's mix. We have a lot of talent
among us that could
easily
be put to work to make
Roton
even better!
Most of the various volunteer opportunities at the Club
are manageable.
Many committees meet only once
a month,
and often for only
several months out of the year. Some volunteer positions
involve planning one social event, and doing this with a friend is
welcomed. Listed below are
descriptions of several committees including time
commitment, meeting days and times,
and contact names and numbers. Please review
these
and see if one would
interest you. If not, check
for
more listings in the next newsletter, as several
more will be published
then.
Whatever you do, please remember
that as owners we all share an interest in and responsibility
to make Roton Point the best for
all of us. It's our Club and we must all participate to keep it that
way!
Tennis Committee
In conjunction
with the
Tennis Director Tom Wright, the
Tennis Committee meets to oversee,
plan and coordinate the various
tennis programs and events. Budgets, calendars and protocol are
created for the season's Interclub and intraclub tournaments
for men's, women's, junior
teams, junior programs and for all tennis social events. The
Committee also makes recommendations to the Board of Directors
regarding personnel, rule changes, program adjustments and tennis
facilities. Committee members are encouraged to sign up to help plan
one tennis social event/tournament per summer and volunteer for
various jobs such as treasurer, secretary, trophies and operations
liaison.
Meetings of the Tennis Committee take place
once a month, March through November, from 7:30-9:00 PM in the Hotel
meeting room. In addition to the hour and a half per month for
meetings, committee members can count on a few additional planning
hours during the month for their scheduled social event and may also
be asked for input on tennis issues via email. Please contact chair,
